James slept through the night again. YAY! He woke up in a great mood and daddy gave him his bottle and some pancakes for breakfast. Mommy dressed him in his jean overalls and his gray shirt and put on his hard soled shoes. James loves his shoes and he will even show you where they go, when you ask him where his shoes go. He can also point to his head when asked and his toes when asked. Mommy and daddy are working on nose and ears now. James had a hard time getting dropped off at daycare again, but was done crying by the time mommy made it to the door. He had his yellow sippy, so he was good. Mommy got a call from Ms. Carolyn that James had split his lip while playing outside. Mommy is not surprised, though she feels sorry for little baby James. Bumps and bruises happen with a new walker. James is not usually bumped and bruised at daycare, mostly those happen at home. Daddy was playing with James recently and James fell off of the bed. Mommy scratched James on accident with her wedding ring, and daddy pinched James' fingers under the rocking chair. Mommy was trying to wait until the bruises went away to take pictures, but that might be too long a wait. Tonight we are having spaghetti for dinner and we have to go shopping to get a few things for daddy's trip. James also needs some more socks. James likes to take off his socks and toss them into oblivion. James always needs new socks.

We had James out a little late last night and he got overtired and wouldn't fall asleep for daddy. Mommy came in and sang him nursery rhymes until he fell asleep. James doesn't like when daddy sings nursery rhymes, only mommy. Mostly this is because daddy doesn't know the words. James likes his nursery rhymes in the following order: Humpty Dumpty, Pat-a-cake, Row your boat, Hey Diddle Diddle, This Little Piggy, The Incy Wincy Spider (he does the hand motions), Baa Baa Black Sheep, Little Miss Muffet, Jack and Jill, Little Bo Peep, Polly put the kettle on.

After that, the nursery rhymes can come in any order.

The split lip was not nearly as bad as mommy thought, having gotten a call from the daycare lady. James kept pointing to it and saying "uh-oh." Very cute.

Ah! Don't you love it?? I accidentally scratched Katie last night when we both moved for the same thing! I thought she was crying for one reason until I noticed the nice scratch on her face. But this was not half as bad as the first nail cutting incident where I cut the tip of her finger off (not exactly) and also why daddy now does Katie's nails! You are just such a wonderful mom! James is really lucky to have you in his life! We are all lukcy to call you friend! :)

Wow - James is so smart! I can't believe he can do all that cool stuff like show you where his shoes go, point to his head, etc. You are such great parents teaching him all that stuff.

What a smart boy to be pointing to his toes and head if you ask him! He's learning all sort of fun stuff from you!

Thanks for the blog idea, Jen! James' family will love it (I hope).

James, just wanted to give you a squeeze from Flora.

You are miles ahead of any benchmarks I've seen published and while nature might have something to do with it, the kind of nurturing you get at home sounds so great, I can't help but think it's mama and papa power.

We have lots of bumps and scratches over here too. Aren't walkers so much fun? We are also still waiting to get Dom's pictures taken because of a scratch on his nose (from playdate) and one on his ear (mommy's fault).
I can't believe how many words James can say. And pointing to his body parts - wow, we're not even close yet. You guys are doing such a good job teaching him!!!

Poor baby James. We love you it will be ok. Tracy got boo-boo too when she started walking. And Auntie Amy left the humitifer on the floor and she burn her finger. She also had her first ambulance ride at 1 or so because the xray tech read the xray wrong and said her airway was closing when it was just a cough so there will be more to come...
